    Sudden Death at Ceres

Miss A. Walter, of Ceres, who died suddenly at the home of her sister and brother-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. G.T. Merritt, Torongo, on Monday, was one who, over a period of years gave excellent service to the district in numerous and various ways.

She had been a resident for 20 years and her interest in, and services given to organisations to which she had been attached were outstanding in the capabilities she displayed in the many duties assigned to her.

In addition to public attachments, she gave a record of service to the Methodist Church and its calls. In this and in all her engagements she exhibited a strong, devout, gracious and kindly Christian character by which she won the respect and friendliness of all sections of the district.

The funeral service at the Noble Street Methodist Church yesterday morning was largely attended and the Rev. S.M. Box, who conducted the service paid a fitting tribute to Miss Walters' (sic) life and associations in the district and Church.

Miss Walter formerly lived in the Casterton district.

Both her parents are deceased and she is survived by a sister, Mrs. G.T. Merritt and brother, Mr. S. Walter and to them and all relatives her many friends in this district extend sincere sympathy.
