    • Military: Between Sep 1914 and 4 Dec 1918, India and the Middle East and possibly France; Served with the 1st./4th. Duke of Cornwall's Light Infantry during WWI in the Indian Army. Attended the Wellington Cadet College graduating on 14 Nov 1916 to the Unattached List (ULIA) as a 2nd. Lieutenant. From there joined the 55th. Coke's Rifles (Frontier Force) on 21 Nov 1916. Was attached to the 29th. Lancers (Deccan Horse) on their departure for the Middle East and France in 1917.

    IN THIS PARISH. HE SERVED THROUGHOUT THE
    GREAT WAR AND DIED IN EGYPT ON DEC 4TH
    1918 AGED 22 YEARS MORE JANUS VITAE

    Became unwell while encamped at Damascus on 13 Nov 1918 and was evacuated to Egypt most probably dying in a base hospital in Alexandria.
