Sacred to the memory of Anne, the wife of Richard Cann of this parish, yeoman: whose soul was guided
into paradise, on the 16th day of April 1853. Aged
69. And throughout all those years of her earthly
existence; and into whatsoever state of life it pleased
God to call he, as a daughter, as a wife, and as
a, mother; she did her duty, like a Christian woman,
faithfully and well as it is written in the words of
King Lemuel, "Many daughters have done virtuously; but she excelled them all: the heart of her husband did safely trust in her, and she did him good all the days of his life: her children arose up and called her blessed:" And, like the widow of Shunem, she was content, loving and beloved, "To dwell among her own people!" Thencefore, as holy scripture saith, "Give her of the fruit of her hands and let her own works praise her in the gates!"
Anne married CANN Richard 11 Jul 1806, Bradworthy DEV. Richard was born 1786, Bradworthy DEV; died 18 May 1838, Morwenstow CON; was buried May 1838, Morwenstow Churchyard, Morwenstow CON. [Group Sheet]
