He landed on 26 May 1915 and apart from some time recovering from wounds and illness at Mudros he appears to have been on site until the evacuation. It appears that he was wounded at least twice during his service in the AIF. On 10 Mar1916 he was transferred to being a driver instead of a machine gunner.
