    Whereas A Marriage is intended by the permission of Almighty God shortly to be had and solemnized Between the bearer hereof William Walter of the Parish of Bradworthy in the county of Devon yeoman and my daughter - Ann Brimacome of the Parish of Sutcombe in the same county spinster who is a few weeks under age. This is therefore to certify whome it shall or may concern That I do consent to and approve of the said match. And I do hereby permitt and consent to the said William Walter taking up licence for that purpose - immediatly at Exeter or Elsewhere. Given under my hand this 18th. of March 1787.
