Allendale, Victoria, Fire Brigade - World War I Honour Roll
Thomas Roy JACKSON (1893-1918) served as Corporal, B Company, 29th. Battalion, Australian Infantry, AIF. Killed in Action at Vignacourt, Somme, France on 25 Apr 1918 at the time that his fellow soldiers were famously holding the village of Villers Bretonneux a few miles away. His younger brother William John JACKSON (c. 1895-1917) had earlier died while serving his country on the Western Front. Lest We Forget.
