- Worked his passage from Canada to England on a tanker. Signed up in the RAFVR and trained for about a year as a Wireless Operater/Air Gunner. On completion of his training he joined 214 Squadron, RAF. Flew many missions commencing in July 1941. Lost on a bombing mission to Munster, Germany which launched from Stradishall, Suffolk aboard Wellington Mark I C, X9890. Sadly, all of the crew were posted as missing.
He has no known grave but is remembered on Panel 95 at the Runnymede Air Forces Memorial at Englefield Green in Surrey and on the Bomber Command Memorial Wall at Nanton, Alberta.
