- Took part in the major battles at Bullecourt, Pozières, Mouquet Farm and Passchendaele. Sustained a gunshot wound to his back on 23 Apr 1916 from which he made a full recovery. Died while on leave in England from pneumonia which was probably a result of Spanish Influenza which was at that time, sweepng through the soldiers on the Western Front. Lest We Forget.
