Served with the 1st./4th. Duke of Cornwall's Light Infantry during WWI in the Indian Army. Attended the Wellington Cadet College graduating on 14 Nov 1916 to the Unattached List (ULIA) as a 2nd. Lieutenant. From there joined the 55th. Coke's Rifles (Frontier Force) on 21 Nov 1916. Was attached to the 29th. Lancers (Deccan Horse) on their departure for the Middle East and France in 1917. |

- Became unwell while encamped at Damascus on 13 Nov 1918 and was evacuated to Egypt most probably dying in a base hospital in Alexandria.
