83 A great Australian Rules footballer. Admired by many as the greatest ever Australian Rules full-forward in the VFL/AFL. He could mark spectacularly and was very accurate in kicking for goal. He topped the league goal kicking in 1949, 1950, 1952 and 1953, but his career came to a sudden end with a serious knee injury in 1954.

He won two premierships with Essendon in 1949 and 1950, and returned as a coach to win further premierships in 1962 and 1965.
